About Us

Our History

Tehran Maravigna-Covino (Mama T) was born in America and volunteered in many organisations and activities. She was raised by parents that embrace humanitarian values. These values instilled in her a commitment to be of service to others. Her family was involved with the Medical Missionaries of Mary, a religious institute of the Catholic Church that is dedicated to providing health care to the undeveloped world. It was through this exposure that Tehran became interested in volunteering in Africa. She had an opportunity to make several trips to Ghana volunteering at an orphanage and a disabled centre. During these trips she understood the challenges that people with disabilities experienced (PWD). She eventually relocated to Ghana with the mission to assist PWD to achieve economic stability and freedom from begging on the streets. No More Neglect Foundation was formed with the intent to empower PWD through vocational training and facilitation of employment opportunities. She has hope that the destigmatization of PWD will change one person at a time. Tehran’s relentless determination integrity and passion fuels our project.
